Whatever it takes !

When walking past the streets of Mumbai,u cant miss out the huge hoardings screaming for attention..Besides a huge party symbol lies a supposed to be a radiant photograph of a person standing for elections and a huge list of photographs around him of people whom hez blessed to be with..Every few years ,We the people of India are witness to the grand comic of all sorts called ELECTIONS ! Inspite of stringent election protocols, nothing's changed i guess..With elections around the corner,at every nook and corner ,the grand old loudspeakers honk out everything from the party manifesto to patriotic songs to just about everything to make there presence felt. The election warrants an extra supply of nutrients to people ,and ofcourse the extra dose of liquor which comes along wid it !Years after years this gimmick has being going around and many a innocent people have fallen prey to it..If this is the case with cities I really cant imagine the pathetic state in rural India..People have definately become more sensible but the fact that being just sensible is not enough...We urgently need a change in attitude..for starters do somethin abt this than just blogging !

India vs India

As I woke up to welcome the new year ,the newspaper by my coffee table caught my eye..The front page of THE TIMES OF INDIA (dated 01/01/2007) was blank except a article scripted in bold letters "India vs India"..I'm sure most of you must have gone thru it..One thing is for sure ,I cudnt have asked for a better article on the front page..I was expecting some depressing news about Saddam's hanging or the Noida killings but i was genuinely surprised by this.
The article put me into a thinking mood..the beautifully crafted words were enough to create an impact on me..The first thing that came to my mind which is the India i'm living in..Well I guess firstly i'm fortunate to be atleast in that half of India which is literate enough to read this article and afford this newspaper..I'm thankful to be in that India which has a house to live in and family to support me..I'm lucky enough to live in a free country and finally i'm fortunate enough to live to see the transformation of my country in this millenium.
As the article finally says.."The time is now"...Let us all usher the new year and many more to come with faith in our hearts and strength in our minds to conquer the world with a new zest.

PS- This article may seem a bit out of place for those who havent read the article.I strongly recommend u to read the newspaper or its website..
